1st January 2011Neil Chapman was awarded the 2010 James Watt Medal of the UK Institution of Civil Engineers for a paper on UK radioactive waste disposal. The medal, named after James Watt, the Scottish mechanical engineer and inventor who died in 1819, was introduced by Robert Stephenson, President of the Institution in 1855-56.
